TARA MCPHERSON’S INSOMNIAC LUMINATIONS
Tara McPherson is an artist based out of New York City. Creating art about people and their odd ways, her characters seem to exude an idealized innocence with a glimpse of hard earned wisdom in their galactic eyes. Recalling myths and legends, issues from childhood and good old life experience, she creates images that are thought provoking and seductive. People and their relationships are a central theme throughout her work. One could wisely say it always remains a constant throughout the heart of her cotton candy colored paintings. The true soul and sometimes our perversions are sugar coated for everyone to see.

All are very interesting, but I really like the David Bowie.

I’m thinking of doing a part 2… Digging more into the Berlin Trilogy and Scary Monsters, etc.. Just dunno if I can add something more to it than what’s been already said in all those specialized magazines… BTW I know what I said about Bowie’s early influences was already known, it’s just not many people liked Syd Barrett and The VU and Iggy… The New-York Dolls.. The Heartbreakers, etc… But thanks!! I’m really flattered you liked the Bowie post cuz it was a real big challenge to write down something interesting about him after all what was said and done after his death… Just wish I should have done it while he was alive… I would have loved to know that he read it. I’m pretty sure he would have been ok with everything I wrote here… TY for your honest opinion too!!! HUGZ my dear friend!!

I’ve been visiting you for quite some time this evening. Mostly on the Burroughs posts. I had no idea about any of this – his infatuation with guns, his wife’s death, his relationship with Cobain. And now I really have to start writing something myself. You are so much more disciplined than I am and with topics that need research! I think I’m going to give up and write about our recent excursion to Florida. I couldn’t help but think of your Banksy post on Dismaland while we were in Epcot. Hugs to you, too, Tobe.

I’ve never been to Miami – just Orlando and Tampa. It’s the sunshine state- so lots of flowers and color!

About Bowie… I had completely skipped the influence Burroughs had on Diamond Dogs!! Just added this to the post! I knew Diamond Dogs had something to do with the Nova Trilogy!!!

No its just alittle quote I added in the Bowie article.. It’s quite obvious.. easy to find.. Sowwy!! Just thought you’d like to know!! Isn’t this Burroughs a fascinating person though… He was Patti Smith mentor and the Godfather of the Beat Generation… I loved reading his novel Cities of the Red Night and his bio by Barry Miles… Anyways… I’ll let you make-up your own mind… Not everyone likes the guy…. But just let me say that he was more than just a weirdo… Much more… TY so much for your interest!! it makes it more interesting for me to write too!!
