DO THEY OWE US A LIVING?
Yes They Fucking Do!
Banksy is an anonymous English street art Artist and activist who has become a cult hero for his anti-establishment and rebellious artwork. Unlike someone who stays in his house all day drawing comics and watching Simpsons’ reruns, Banksy is a REAL artist who challenges the status quo, forces people to think and puts himself in danger, all while remaining a complete mystery to the world. I mean think about it, he’s one of the most famous artists on the planet, his work has been popping up in major cities for the past 10 years and sell for millions of dollars and no one knows who the hell this guy is! The guy definitely has my respect.
If you haven’t seen it, I recommend the documentary Banksy directed, Exit Through the Gift Shop. What was meant to be a film about Banksy instead turned into a movie about a man who was obsessed by Street Art and then by succeeding to meet Banksy. Although it’s a ‘mockumentary’ and the plot a set-up, it’s still a brilliant film. It not only documents the street art movement, it also deals with the meaning of art, and whether or not an artist actually needs any talent or can just survive on hype alone. It also is about us and how we receive and perceive what they do. Brilliant.

This is fantastic! I liked that comic! I love Banksy’s art, I actually did a short paper on him for college. His art is literally revolutionary!
I have also seen Exit Through the Gift Shop, and forgive me if I say, the guy is a joke, lol. I’m sorry but I didn’t like him. I feel like he was motivated through different means and not like every other artist out there who does it to send out a message. Idk if that makes any sense, but I generally like artists with integrity.

You have to watch it again. Exit through the Gift Shop is a mocukumentary. The guy you see is not Banksy. Not one (except a few really close chosen ones) has ever seen Banksy. No one knows what he looks like. So if you listen to it again you will see that it rather wants you to reflect on what art has become nowadays…. I mention all this at the end of my post. Read it carefully…It really changes the way you seee things in this mockumentary and gives you a totally different intake on what you see and how you reflect on it. Of course this guy is disgusting and we hate him…. He’s only n for the money..That’s precisely what Banksy wants us to reflect, pause and ponder. Not once have Banksy’s identity has been revealed so far…

Yes, I know it’s not Banksy. I’ll give it another shot but I remember not liking the guy BECAUSE he was doing it for the money and fame.

HAHAHA!! He’s everything people who like artist with integrity hate!! He’s the perfect opportunist, jumping and without any hesitation jumping on any meaningless piece of art to make a buck just because its trendy… Of course we hate him!! I swear to God watch it again knowing Banksy is behind all this and making it a mockumentary and you will so totally get what Banksy is trying to make us understand…. The guy(actor)actuallyrepresent some kind of a martyr cuz Banksy knew people would hate him, unless you get he’s part of the plan… Not that obvious but it sure is all orchestrated by Banksy himself.. So you actually had the reaction Banksy wanted to provoke. You definitely have your values at the right place my friend!!!

In other words, you are totally right and this what Banksy wants people to realise. The guy in the so called documentary is a total fraud!! And unfortunately this is what art is about nowadays… Check it out again knowing this is a mockumentary and you will see what I mean and that you ar right to hate this guy!!
